Thought for a Sunday - 1 November 2009
Hi my friends. Hope you are well today. What's bubbling in your world? I look out my window and I can't believe it's so dark already. The whole day went by so quickly although I do know the sun shined for a while. Hope you had some fun on Halloween. We did not have as many kids this year as it started to rain quite a bit a little before six and was not very pleasant for the kids.
As indicated in previous blogs, please feel free to provide comments.
What a week I've had!! Lots of things have been bubbling lately. I wish I had the energy to keep up with all that my mind and heart want to do.
I went to an alumni conference of the coaching program I attended and although I could only attend one day - WOW what a day!!! Wonderful learning opportunities and conversations. One of the exercises we did was on gratitude. It was amazing to me that this was part of the day when I have been talking about this subject off and on for several weeks. Our exercise consisted of having five index cards and writing down a note to someone that we were grateful for during the conference. It was an amazing exercise as we then had to go to the person and read the card to him/her and then give it to him/her. Lots of hugs and in some cases tears were about. I must say I was amazed when a man I had only said hi to once that day walked up to me and said: "I get a great feeling from you." I was so humbled at that moment to think I had an impact on someone that day with just a hello and that he was grateful. We finished the exercise with commitments to express gratitude daily. With that in mind, I would like to express my gratitude for those of you reading this blog and for being part of my life.
Another lesson we had was a Journey with Intuition and Creativity to Transformation. We completed an exercise in small groups where we reviewed pictures taken by an amazing photographer. We had to talk about what we saw in the pictures, what emotions came up and how the picture would be part of our story. It was extremely interesting and gave me some ideas for future coaching - plus we got to keep the pictures. Have you ever looked a picture and feel your emotions? What did you do?
I also received a book titled: 5 Life Energies - Carol Harris-Fike. I started it yesterday and will be reading this over the next few weeks
When I'm with this group of people the energies in the room are amazing. I feel drained and energized at the same time. Sometimes not wanting the day to end.
Yesterday I met someone that works/plays with energies which surprised me in light of the book I'm reading. She was at my house for a get-together brought by another friend. She was extremely interesting and we had a wonderful conversation. I did not ask her about my energy, but the energy coming from her was amazing. I could feel her creativity and enthusiasm. Have you ever worked with energies or encountered someone like this?
Well, I better get going as I have a few more things to get done before the end of the day. I can feel my energy draining a bit - missed my Sunday nap!!
Take care. Chat soon. Marie
